The SmarK 24/7 Rant for Monday Night RAW - December 8 1997

- So it's the night after the DeGeneration X PPV and big stuff is afoot…

- Live from Portland, Maine.

- Hour 1 is hosted by Jim Ross & Michael Cole & Kevin Kelly. My dream team! Actually they're not so bad here because their entire role is to read pre-scripted bits of the conversation in between JR's actual points. Like they're going over the Shamrock-Michaels title match and Kelly's bit will be "Indeed the match was a mixture of speed and technique" and you won't hear him again. I can deal with that.

Lexography

In the Heatseeker piece it was mentioned that WCW lowballed Lex since they didn't want him but he took it anyways. Did the WWF make him an offer or where they fine letting him walk? Do you think he would have been able to break out or do you think he would have been stuck in his mid card funk if he would have stayed in the WWF?

Persoanlly I never cared for him but @ the time I remember the jump being a big deal. 

Do you mean in 1995? Hell yes Vince made him an offer. Lex basically walked away from the negotiations and jumped to WCW without giving notice. Vince was obviously pushing him into a pretty high position feud with British Bulldog, and I'm 100% sure that given how business went into the toilet in 1996 that Lex would have gotten the World title sooner or later and been pushed as a main event guy.  I mean, fucking SID VICIOUS got the belt, that's how desperate they were for someone who could draw and had big muscles.
