Summerslam Main Events: Summerslam 1995

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Here's a card that very few people remember and the ones that do hope they forget it.

I thought about doing three bonus matches to highlight the Clique but I really didn't want to watch Helmsley vs. Bob Holly. Please forgive me.

Summerslam Main Events: Summerslam 1994

Monday, August 9th, 2010

I am completely popping my cherry on this card as I wasn't disciplined enough to sit through a 40-minute bloodless cage match years ago. Oh yeah I have to see if the Undertaker vs. Undertaker match is as bad as everyone says.

Enjoy.

Summerslam 1993

Sunday, August 8th, 2010

Well this is one of those frustrating moments where I felt like the WWF had a perfect reason to take a shot on Luger and didn't capitalize.

Otherwise it was a pretty good card with a much better-than-expected title match as Yokozuna could still move a little.

Summerslam Main Events: Summerslam 1992

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Sorry I've been in the basement for a good bit but family vacations come before all else and I needed the Caribbean sun and the ABC Islands were more than willing to provide it for me.

I still will get all these Main Events done by the 15th because the Princess never the Kingdom down.

Anyway Summerslam 1992, it's one of the great WWF/E of yesteryear and it was a pretty risky move by Vince deciding to hold this sucker in England but a crowd of 80K+ proved the risk worth taking.

Both halves of the Double Main Event were excellent as well but which match was better?

Cole Abuse

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Hey Scott--

Since you've written a few posts on NXT, I had a question: You've said in the past that you add a star to any match where Vince McMahon gets repeatedly hit in the nuts. By that logic, would you follow an episodic television show where Michael Cole gets punched in the face every week?

Yes.  I’d also follow one where someone hits Matt Striker in the face with a chair every time he makes up a statistic.  Either one would be good, really.

I think they also do a reality show for announcers, where hopefuls have to endure Vince screaming in their headset, and get cut if they slip up and say “belt” instead of “championship” too many times.
