Music plug

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Hey Scott, long-time reader, first-time writer and a selfless one at that, because I'm not even plugging myself.

My friend's band have done a cheap-as-you-like music video for their novelty Xmas pop-punk extravaganza called "I Hate Santa" and it's really worth checking out. Just what we need to cheer us all up through the global recession and political infighting - dancing and violence. Check it out, hope you enjoy it. It's better than most Xmas songs anyway.

Popcorn Plug

Purveyor of Links to Unwashed Masses,

We here at The Popcorn Trick (http://www.thepopcorntrick.com) have compiled a list of Christmas-inspired videos to get you in the mood for the holiday season. They encompass everything from Swayze to Rasheed Wallace to the Ramones to the Muppets to both Hall and Oates.  All that and mostly cogent analysis can be found here:

Enjoy yourself.

C'mon, I'm pretty sure the masses reading this blog are washed.

Gift certificate plug

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I've diligently read all your shameless plugs over the years, just in case I needed one my self.  And now I actually do!
http://www.giftzip.com

It's basically a portal to easily get to gift certificates to a bunch of stores online. My family and I always gave each other gift cards for birthdays, etc., but it was a pain to find where to buy one on each retailer's site. GiftZip links directly to them.
It's free, as we're just trying to drive traffic to the site for advertisements and affiliate programs.
Thanks!

Good luck with the driving.

Generic plug

Hey Scott--

I was wondering if you'd be willing to plug my blog, http://lllc.blogspot.com. I've just started it up, with a focus on politics, tv, movies, and wrestling. I take a great deal of inspiration from you, and think your readers might enjoy my ramblings. Thanks!

I hope they do!

50 Cent Plug

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Scott,

Long time fan and reader. Please promote my show on MTV -- 50 Cent's The Power and the Money, it starts airing November 6th @ 10 PM.

I dont know if Canada gets our MTV shows, but thats not the real point of this e-mail. I need fans! Fans = Better chances for me to have appearances, and maybe I can even blog about the show on your blog?

Anyway please ask your readers to support a fellow wrestling fan/reader - http://www.iamonmtv.com/fans/larrydallas

I appreciate it!

You heard the man!  Watch his show!  Of course, MTV Canada is way behind MTV US in terms of everything but The Hills so I don't think it'll air up here any time soon, but I'm always happy to help.

Fairly shameless plug

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

if you could plug my blog, I'd appreciate it:
http://theactionmutant.blogspot.com/
so it's not totally futile, maybe a good suggestion would be the top 10 Simpsons seasons. Although, I seem to remember you doing something like that before so if you did, maybe you could try something that conincides with my blog...like "Keith's Top 10 Action movies ever" or "Keith's favorite (insert favorite Action hero here) movies".
Joe Burrows

Well I have a Simpsons S11 review coming up if the studio ever sends me the damn DVDs, so I might throw something in there on the subject.

Enjoy the plug in the meantime.

Tito Plug

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008
Scott,
May I get a "cheap plug" for my latest column?
I hypothetically asked: What if Vince McMahon Jr. NEVER existed?
http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008_/1222833802.php
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter and the column.
Thanks,
-Mr. Tito

I'd agree with most of the major points here. Crockett was definitely on the verge of a breakthrough before Jim Herd fucked it all up, and Dusty has often contended that without Vince, he could have taken WCW national a lot sooner.  We'll give him the benefit of the doubt, I guess, and without Vince he's got a clear shot at Hulk Hogan.  Really, whoever got Hulk (except for Verne) was going to ride the money train to the top.  However, without someone like Vince to take the chance on Wrestlemania and the PPV market, things would otherwise likely be segmented and territorial.  Maybe it would be better that way in some ways, although dozens of backstabbing promoters fighting each other for small pieces of the pie could end up a disaster just as easily.

An interesting column!
