Family Guy Quickies

1. Best main character:
2. Best supporting character:
3. Best "season"
4. Lois: hot or not?
5. Best "Road to" episode
6. Best song
7. Best chicken fight
8. Is it better before cancellation or now?
9. Better combo: brian/stewie or Peter/Brian?

1.  Used to be Brian, but his transformation into Seth’s preachy avatar totally soured me on him.  So now I vote Stewie.

2.  Cleveland, because his spinoff makes you realize how much he’s missed on the main show.

3.  The third one (volume 2 of the DVD).  They knew they were doomed and produced some great stuff.

4.  Hot.

5.  Road to Rhode Island is still the best.

6.  Well, Shipoopi is my ringtone, so that’s your winner.

7.  I’m fond of the one where Peter gets interrupted in a conversation with Bonnie and then picks it up again afterwards.

8.  It was best just after cancellation when they still cared.

9.  The “Stewie and Brian” borefest episode really killed that relationship for me, but GIMME MY MONEY and the past episodes leave it the champion.

What’s Kayfabe?

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Hey Scott.  I'm finishing up my Over the Limit 2010 Way Too Long Review and I'm adding the tangents and gags and stuff to the structure of the review.  I'm doing a bit on Serena being released and how stupid it is that they chose a girl who is not straight edge to play a straight edge character, then fired her for not keeping kayfabe.  And it got me thinking: is Serena truly the first person since Jim Duggan and the Iron Sheik way back in 1987 to be fired by the WWE for breach of kayfabe?
I've really racked my brain trying to think of anyone else.  I think she really is the first in twenty-three years.

There’s gotta be some other stupid reason besides breaking kayfabe.  I just don’t buy it.  But other than that, no, I can’t personally think of anyone getting canned for similar reasons since 87.

Smackdown

Date: August 27, 2010

Theme song leads to pyro, which is a very simple thing that this show does which I always like for some reason. I like basic stuff like that I suppose.

Sorry, Luna

Friday, August 27th, 2010

I know it’s a morbid running joke on the blog at this point, but honest to god I left town on Thursday afternoon and was staying out on the farm without internet, only to return to discover that Luna Vachon had died.  Very sad, especially considering her mental problems and hard luck in recent years.  RIP.

Michael's Impact Review #28

August 26, 2010

The Impact Zone - Orlando, Florida

-  After a week's hiatus, I have returned.  I have two requests, because you guys can dig up anything around here.  First, I have read several people talking about watching pay per views online the day after the show.  Is there a website I can find these, or archived shows, at?  (Yes, I am really asking that.)  Second, I used to really be into playing Promotion Wars online but cannot find a download for it anywhere.  If anyone knows what I am talking about, can they shoot a link in the comments section.  Thanks in advance for any help on these two things.  Now, LET'S CROSS THE LINE! Dead Wrestler Plug

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Thought you and your readers might like this weekly (but more like monthly) column on popular blog Deadspin.com
http://deadspin.com/tag/deadwrestleroftheweek/
It's a really thoughtful look at each instance and the author seems to be fairly knowledgeable of the businesses.

It’s very sad that someone can actually do a blog about dead wrestlers and have enough material to last for a LONG time.

RAW plug

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Hi Scott, wrestling fan for about 30 years. I have read your blog for a while and I am trying my hand at reviews for a friend's website. I am not a play-by-play review. I try to keep them shorter but get the basic gist of the match/story. Would it be too much to ask for you to read one and give your opinion? Perhaps mention it on your blog if deemed worthy? The site iswww.mymusetellslies.com/marcelusive
Thank you!

Pretty good, it’s mostly on point.  I’d say it could use more actual opinions on stuff like the match quality, but definitely keep at it.
