Conspiracy Theory

It's not comedy gold but it's worth it for Paul F. Thomkins doing the Iron Shiek.

IT’S STILL REAL TO ME, DAMMIT!

Having not seen the original show I can’t comment on the parody of Jesse’s batshit insane ramblings, but the fact that Paul would know to do the Brian Blair bit is awesome.

The part with Warrior was pure gold.

    • Barbarash says:

Now this is a “Conspiracy Theory” as I clearly remember typing the above comment (I’m pretty sure I was the first commenter..) and yet it is under WireTap’s name???

The Jesse and Warrior portrayals were awesome, overall pretty funny. Another funny skit I found on there, http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/1e5af33246/teen-wolf-from-summeroftears

    • Barbarash says:

      That was amusing.

That just reminded me how AWESOME that song is at the end

Mark Safan – “Win In The End”

        I was down to zero
        Still an unsung hero
Waiting for my ship to come to shore

        I stood empty handed
        Like a seagull stranded
Watching all the other seagulls soar

        I was slowly losing hope
Twisting frayed ends of the rope
        In a suicidal fantasy

        I was going to extremes
Losing sight of all my dreams again
        I never thought I’d win

I was blinded by the pain
        Running wild through the rain
        In a parody of ecstasy

I was inches from the edge
Fingers clinging to the ledge again
        I never thought I’d win

        [Chorus]
        Win in the end
I’m gonna win in the end
        Win in the end
I’m gonna win in the end

        Got to keep my cool
        I am not the fool
Everyone expects to play me for

        I could change the pattern
        Steal a ring from Saturn
        Forge myself into a man-of-war

I am equal to the task
I won’t hide behind the mask
What you see is what you’ll get from me

I am stronger than they think
They can force me to the brink again
But now I know I’ll win

        [Chorus]

        I will steal the thunder
        Rolling out from under
Every cloud that’s clashing(?) in the sky

        Like a true defender
        I will not surrender
Why should I lie down for them and die?

I am equal to the task
I won’t hide behind the mask
What you see is what you’ll get from me

I am stronger than they think
They can force me to the brink again
But now I know I’ll win

Awesome shit. I used to enjoy Ventura but when he became a Truther I lost any lingering respect I had for him. I gave his show a watch just to see how nutty it gets. Claiming HAARP controls the weather = pretty nutty.

I totally bought this as a made-for-DVD movie the first time I saw it.

    • Barbarash says:

lol and the funny thing is the blonde chick in it is my distant cousin! Nicky Whelan. She was also in the new scrubs.

Gotta love that “Gobstopper” pretty much exposing the very basic formula of a hollywood horror these days.

  5. JLAJRC says:

The stuff on the website is certainly funnier than anything on their new crappy HBO show. If you can make it through “1000 Cats” I think that should qualify you for sainthood and world’s toughest man combined.

    • byort says:

Hear hear. One Thousand Cats was almost the breaking point for even watching the show any more. 1 more episode to prove me wrong, then I’m gone…

  6. sweetchuck138 says:

I think Jesse just knows how to sell himself. Whether he believes all that stuff or not, it’s a job to him.

Speaking of 9/11 though, has there been anything that is considered definitive in the way of breaking down the physics of the events? It’s tough to have discussions about these kinds of things, because in America we tend to just have extremes. Either you think the Bush administration set up 9/11 or allowed it to happen to generate enough political capital to invade Iraq, or you scream all day long about how questioning the official version is unAmerican and means you’re crazy.

I’m hoping that, now we’re seeing jokes referring to it in pop culture (”thanks a lot, Bin Laden!”) we could get past the knee jerk reactions, stop politicizing everything, and really just take a fresh look at what happened.

My personal opinion is that the attack occurred as described, and those in power just made the best of it by spinning the sudden public support to their long-standing goal of invading Iraq.

    • paulie says:

Popular Mechanics had an incredibly thorough article that is a fairly debunking of the 9/11 conspiracy garbage. For some reason I’m having trouble accessing the link, but you can google and find it fairly easily.

    • LannyPoffo says:

I really hope the state of political discourse isn’t quite THAT bad. Regardless of political affiliation, after we actually look at the facts, surely we can find common ground on claims like “The Truthers are lunatics”.

      • sweetchuck138 says:

Everything in America is politicized. Climate change, global warming, whatever you want to call it, should be a scientific debate. SCIENTISTS should be arguing about it.

Instead, incredibly, we have politicians and political pundits arguing about its existence. Whatever your feelings on the matter, it is INSANE that measurable, physical phenomena are somehow debatable by politicians.

        • GentlemanJeff says:

Scientists can argue about it all they want. As citizens of a republic, it’s our job to argue about the policy responses to whatever threat is posed. Scientists aren’t paying the taxes, balancing the budget, and choosing what to prioritize.

          • LannyPoffo says:

Well, I assume scientists are paying at least some of the taxes.

Totally with you on the idea that these things should be debated, but the state of the debate on things like global warming is worrisome right now; one side points to thousands of years’ worth of facts, the other side points to evidence like the Bible, emails from a handful of scientists who tried to exaggerate their research, and things like “Hey, it’s warm outside today, SO MUCH FOR GLOBAL WARMING!!!”

The policy responses to these things surely need to be debated, but for that to happen, both sides need to agree on basic parameters like “you can’t argue that facts are untrue and still expect to be taken seriously”.

            • GentlemanJeff says:

Your argument is deployed way too often to shut down the debate rather than engage in it. The following items have in no way been settled and these are by far and away the meatiest part of the question since these are the issues that government and individuals will have to respond too vis a vis their pocketbooks:

              (1) It has not been established beyond any reasonable scientific doubt that climate change will have a pervasive effect on the Earth’s habitability. This hasn’t prevented rampant scare-mongering, however.

              (2) It has not been established that there is anything man can do to reverse any climate change.

              (3) It has, on the other hand (and at least to my satisfaction, YMMV), been proven that the costs to do anything close to reversing climate change grossly outweigh the benefits, and this is even more so when compared to things that can be remedied in our lifetimes, such as potable drinking water in third world countries.

I also think you’re caricaturing your opponents.

              • LannyPoffo says:

The caricaturing is done for me by about 80% or so of the “skeptical” side that refuses to even engage in this level of debate. If the skeptics as a whole asked the same questions you just did and brought reasonable doubts to the table instead of demagoguery, we’d have something constructive to work with.

On point 1, there’s a widespread consensus among experts in the field, who are much smarter than I am, that climate change could easily leave parts of the planet uninhabitable very quickly. Again, I’m no scientist myself, but this is a good starting point if you honestly somehow object to the scientific consensus:

                http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

Specifically, there’s a direct link between CO2 emissions and temperature, with the latter lagging behind the former by about 50-100 years. If sea levels rise to a certain extent, major cities go underwater. I don’t know what your definition of “uninhabitable” is, but I can’t breathe underwater.

I actually agree with you completely on point 2 and partially on point 3 there; I’m not sold on the idea that putting a price on carbon would necessarily do all that much to improve things in the end.

Have you gotten a chance to read the “global cooling” chapter in the Superfreakonomics book? The way the authors phrased it led to an instinctive reaction against them but the idea is that for a fraction of the cost of the carbon-emissions controls, we can somehow shoot particles into the upper atmosphere to deflect some of the sun’s harmful rays. Again, I claim no expertise in this field, but it sounds like as good an idea as any other, and the cost incurred if it fails wouldn’t be anywhere near as crippling.

                • Charlie says:

“Skeptics” aren’t really skeptics anymore. A lot of people use the phrase “I’ll never believe…” followed by conspiracy xxxxx. Well that’s not being a skeptic. A skeptic looks at both sides and wants their ‘theory’ disproved.

For me, the ultimate conspiracy buster is Watergate. The best people working for the most paranoid President in our nation’s history couldn’t cover up a break-in of a hotel.

If they can’t do that, they can’t pull off any of the big conspiracies. No folks, we didn’t pull of 9-11, Oswald acted alone, there was no UFO crash at Roswell, and yes I can believe it’s not butter.

Further proof? The Manhattan Project. Granted, it didn’t get coverage in our media because it was World War 2 and people who found out knew why it had to be kept a secret. But people found out about it. LOTS of people. Our enemies knew about it. It had more leaks then a boat made of Swiss cheese.

                • SHough610 says:

Not using fossil fuels anymore makes sense simply from a security standpoint. If countries A-D hates us, perhaps we shouldn’t be giving them so much money for their only export?

Charlie, I disagree with you about Watergate. It was the law of averages. This was not the first time that the Nixon administration had done something similar, they just got caught there.

I’m not someone who believes in conspiracy theories, but I believe in the JFK assassination. I don’t have a specific theory on who did it, just that Oswald didn’t act alone.

I’m not going to get into the “back and to the left” debate, but I’ll point out the facts that are to me most damning:
                  1) The Kennedy Motorcade, from Oswald’s vantage point, moved along a capital ‘L’. Logically, Oswald should have shot when they were coming towards him, not away.
                  2) All records indicate that Oswald was, at best, an average shot. Also, the sight on his rifle was misaligned.
                  3) Oswald got off four shots in eleven seconds from a bolt-action rifle, only missing one. The first shot should have been the most accurate, yet it was his third shot that killed JFK.

Is it possible that Oswald acted alone in killing JFK? Yeah, I certainly think so. I just find it highly improbable.

                • Charlie says:

What most people don’t realize about the “4 shots in 11 seconds” bit is that the timer doesn’t start until the first shot is fired. Penn & Teller did an awesome bust of that myth on BULLSHIT! on Showtime.

              • Barbarash says:

                If all conspiracy’s were right..

The American Government blew up two of its most important and Iconic building as excuse to go to war and get some oil.

Paul McCartney is dead and a carbon copy of him has been prancing around for 40 years as the best tribute act ever.

Aliens indeed landed in Roswell, and we aren’t living alone.

                Montreal was a complete work.

                Global Warming is not real.

Marilyn Manson was the geeky kid from the Wonder years despite denials by all parties involved.

Prince had his ribs removed so he could suck his own cock.

The Millenium Bug happened and were all either dead or controlled by our Microwaves.

O yeah and don’t we all die in 2012?

                • Robin says:

And it seems like the common conspiracy theories all seem to bleed into each other since I’d always heard it was Marilyn Manson who removed his own ribs so he could give himself a blowjob and that he was the kid from “Mr. Belvedere”.

  7. dwaters says:

The Warrior guy running wild in his undies had me cracking up.

    • JimmyHendricks says:

That was the best part of the entire bit. Was he just loitering around in a used car lot or something? I’ve never watched Jesse’s show, but I would bet that the jerky camerawork, him seeking out people, etc. is pretty spot on.

“There he is, he’s over there! Warrior, why won’t you talk to us on cam-ra!”

  8. Lerxst Pratt says:

The Jesse impression was great not only for the voice but also for the facial expressions.

Iron Sheik sounded more like Nikita Koloff at times.

    Warrior’s voice was pretty decent.

VKM sucked; he looked more like Thomas Lennon from The State/Reno 911.

  9. rinehart09 says:

Has anybody seen the Hart & Soul Documentary? Is it any good?

    • Charlie says:

A bit of a letdown. Match selection has too many repeats too. How many times do we need to see Bulldog/Bret? We get it, it’s Vince McMahon’s favorite match ever. Enough already. It’s not THAT good.

      • rinehart09 says:

Bull-Bret from SummerSlam 92 is crazy overrated.

      • s1owcheetah says:

WWE should let customers make custom dvds with their own match selections.

        • flair4dagold says:

That would rule; but they are running a business and if they can get people to double and triple dip on similar matches for hardly any overhead on their end, they’ll keep doing it. That’s why, long ago, I usually get these dvds online…through other means.

          • s1owcheetah says:

You know don’t say…I’d love to be able to get my hands on Bret vs. Bigelow KOTR 93 without shelling out $50 on ebay.

            • s1owcheetah says:

I meant “you don’t say” without the know Fuck it We’ll do it LIVE

            • guy incognito says:

the KOTR 93/94 dvd usually is sold for a lot less than fifty dollars.

              so where’s the problem?

              • s1owcheetah says:

Not here in the States guy – different DVD regions. So usually we have to look on the internet and get the original VHS – which is actually better because the logo or the music isn’t fucked with – but its just expensive

                • guy incognito says:

the tagged classics are identical with the original vhs release including all logos etc.

and regarding the dvd regions: just get a codefree player. problem solved. :)

(i live in Europe but buy a lot of US dvds because they are often a lot less expensive)

        • Robin says:

Unfortunately, I don’t doing custom DVDs would make them enough of a profit for them to justify it and I’m sure it would create a HUGE headache for their production department since they always have to go over every match with a fine tooth comb to blur out logos, edit out all usages of “WWF”, etc.

Most of the requests would probably be for stuff that isn’t already on DVD and likely hasn’t been worked over yet. And if someone requested a DVD of Chris Benoit matches, they’d have negate their promise about not using his name for profit.

          • s1owcheetah says:

I’d pay a couple hundred bucks for an official one. I’m sure a lot of people are completely turned off by watching Chris Benoit so it wouldn’t be an issue.

I bet a WWE Superstar could go up to a production guy and be like “I want Piper vs Hogan Starrcade 97, some Steiners vs. Luger & Sting Superbrawl Saturday 91, Bigelow / Hart KOTR 93, and some Spicolli / Dreamer 97 and I want it in my duffel bag by next week and dont FUCK with the Ecw music” K thanks buhbye

    • WireTap804 says:

Only seen the documentary portion, and that was just ok. After all the books and Wrestling With Shadows, there wasn’t too much WWE could add.

Seeing teenage versions of The Hart Dynasty at the Canadian Stampede PPV was kinda cool, though. Had no idea they were there.

    • red29 says:

While some of the matches are dups for DVD collectors, they have added some things to them. The Summerslam cage match has the full pre-match (while they are setting up the cage) Hart family interview. Canadian Stampede has FULL introductions (unlike the Pillman set) so that is a nice piece to have as well.

      • JimmyHendricks says:

I always cringe a bit when a match I already have is on a upcoming release, but hey, I’m usually only spending about $20 for it, and there’s more than enough new stuff to make up for the duplicates. Plus, it would be silly to not include Bret/Bulldog on this set given the subject matter, and the SS 94 cage match is there due to the involvement of most of the Hart family. I am surprised that the Survivor Series Bret/Backlund submission match wasn’t included, with Helen throwing in the towel and all. I’ve actually never seen that match in complete form.

I always try and remember that there are certain fans that don’t buy every wrestler-specific release like I do, so they will be owning/seeing Bret/Bulldog for the first time. So to say, “Hey, that was on the Hulk Still Rules release in 2002! Damn WWE!” is a bit much.

  10. Charlie says:

I present this to the forum…

I’m doing the Way Too Long Review of Shawn Michaels: My Journey and I suddenly am curious about something…

We all know about the famous ‘Phantom Title Switch’ between the Rockers and the Hart Foundation and why it was undone.

My question is this: The Rockers were supposed to be a short-term title holding team, just like a month or something. Shawn Michaels said as much.

BUT, who were they going to drop the belts to? What heel team was due around November of 1990? The only team I can figure is the Nasty Boys.

    • Barbarash says:

The Nasty’s joined in December 1990, I doubt they would put the straps on them immediately due to wanting to establish Knobbs and Saggs with the WWF audience (universe!?) first. WM7 was as quick as they possibly could realistically push them.

I reckon in reality they very well could of dropped the belts back to the Hart Foundation. Though they could of run with Rockers vs Nastys at WM7, they were party buddies and wrestled a fair bit in the AWA.

    • LannyPoffo says:

Hmmm were the Smash/Crush heel Demos in line for a run? I loved them around Survivor Series ‘90 when they were with Hennig. Plus they would theoretically have the LOD to feud with…..

    • Robin says:

Power and Glory, perhaps? They went over The Rockers at Summerslam and were made to look strong at Survivor Series when their entire team survived against the team that the Rockers were on.

Hell, it would not surprise me in the least if Hercules and Paul Roma were promised a run with the belts, but Roma screwed it up by doing something to piss everybody off, which would explain why the team went from looking strong in the last half of 1990 to being squashed at Wrestlemania 7.

      • Maybe The Orient Express since The Rockers had quite a competitive match with them at the ‘91 Rumble?

      • s1owcheetah says:

        What the hell happened anyway?

      • JimmyHendricks says:

I think that P&G only went over The Rockers at SS 90 because Shawn’s knee was too fucked to do any ring work with. So he gets “hit with Hercules’ chain” and taken out and Jannetty gets squashed due to having to go it alone. Had they both been healthy I think that the booking would have been reversed. I never saw P&G as more than a midcard, Beverly Brothers-like tag team, much like how The Bushwackers were as faces. I always felt like they had nothing left for Hercules to do as a singles wrestler, so they paired him with Roma, ala Koko with Owen. Maybe I’m wrong, though.

I think that it would have been possible for The Rockers to keep the Tag Titles all the way through to WM VII had the rope not broken, but the Harts were pretty over as well. It could have been just a short term title change to satisfy the fans. I think that the Nastys getting the belts and eventually LOD getting them were the long term plans. Bret was on his way to singles stardom, and Shawn said in his book (I believe) that he and Marty weren’t getting along backstage at that point, so the breakup angle was started in mid 1991.

  11. Robin says:

Wow, a minute ago, I thought we just had ourselves one huge wrestling-related death when I read a headline that Dixie Carter had died!

Turns out it was the actress Dixie Carter who starred in “Designing Women”.

  12. cactusland2 says:

You should check out Jesse’s show as well, if you ever get the chance. It’s completely 100% batshit crazy.. And one of the most absorbing things I’ve seen in a long time.

    • Charlie says:

I watched the first few episodes, on HAARP and 9-11.

The HAARP one was just so stupid it doesn’t even justify a response.

The 9-11 one was more ‘let’s ignore the facts and get down to some cold hard speculation’ bullshit these Truthers keep puking up.

“The whole building was painted in thermite.”

Right. Now assuming that were true, 9-11 would have been like a cauldron afterwards. It would have been so hot nobody would have been able to get remotely close. Thermite can burn hot and long and yet we were able to pull people out of the wreckage long after the buildings collapsed. If everything was coated in thermite… hell, even if the steel beams were, everything would have been so hot and the heat would be able to spread so fast that every person who didn’t die from the collapse would have roasted.

“They took out an insurance policy! BOOYAH, PROOF!”

Right, because acting like responsible land-owners and insuring your property = mass murderer.

I’m not sure what’s worse: Truthers or Birthers. Both are significantly dangerous, in my opinion. Those JFK and Rosewell nuts are nothing compared to those fuckwits.

      • I’ve heard of Truthers but what are Birthers?

        • Comdukakis says:

people who claim Obama is not a U.S. citizen thus he can’t be President by the rules of the Constitution. Bunch of fucking moron sore losers. And yes my level of political discourse dropped about 40 notches in this case. These people aren’t worth even mentioning.

          • I suppose it’s pointless to ask why they would claim such a thing?

              • Comdukakis says:

make sure you read all the way down and read the part on political impact, where it talks about it being a fundraising scam to get money from the crazies and how moderate republicans hate the whole thing but are reluctant to stand up to them. To me this shows the very issue the Republican party has right now. They have a huge opportunity to make big gains in 2010 and possibly even win the white house in 2012, but their own far right wing is such a weight around their neck that it costs them votes. If the republicans ran moderate candidates in every vulnerable district in 2010, they could almost sweep the contested seats. Now I’m not saying that is right or wrong, but at this point it’s a political fact. But instead they have too many tea party apologists and Pallin types who are going to waste opportunities for the party. No skin of my nose, I don’t want them winning in most cases anyway, but just an observation.

                • Well, I understand more about the issue now so thank you for that. Quite why so many people are wasting so much time, energy, and money on this instead of channeling those resources into doing whatever they can to ensure their preferred candidate wins the next election is a mystery to me.

Actually, I wonder why the Republicans don’t just change gears–if they just come out and say that they believe Obama is not a citizen and they’re ok with him being President anyway then it would open the door for their marquee member, Schwarzenegger, to run someday, wouldn’t it?

  13. Charlie says:

    Quick off-topic comment regarding Poland…

    Ahem…

WHAT THE FUCK were they thinking putting practically the entire legislative, executive, and military branches of the government all on a single plane, along with the head of the bank, the top religious representatives, the head of the country’s bar, the head of their Olympic committee, the head of their national museum, and just for shits and giggles, one of their country’s top actors and one of their top artists as well?

And why the FUCK is this not getting coverage on the alleged ‘news’ networks? Fox is more concerned with if Tiger Woods managed to play a round of golf without fucking any white women. CNN is more concerned with if Tiger Woods fucked any white women when he heard about the new iPad. MSNBC is showing PRISON DOCUMENTARIES!

What the fuck? The entire political system of an entire country was wiped out in one big sweep and we’re talking about Tiger Woods or the latest on Sandra Bullock’s Nazi-Fetishist husband?

I’m thoroughly disgusted that the most epic loss of government officials since Roman times takes place and nobody in the media is talking about it. These fuckers should hang their heads in collective shame.

Here’s a thought: let’s ship Tiger Woods and Jesse James (Bullock’s husband, not the wrestler) to Russia to clean up the wreckage. Maybe then somebody will notice that entire country of Poland’s heads of state just went poof.

    Horrible tragedy.

    • Robin says:

So true. I should not be reading about this huge story for the first time on a god damn wrestling blog!

      • Charlie says:

        Are you seriously kidding?

        That’s so sad.

      • Charlie says:

To put this in perspective, this would be like President Obama, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Timothy Geithner, Robert Gates, Eric Holder, all but one of the Joint Chiefs, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Jon Kyl, Dick Durbin, John Boehner, the Head of the Smithsonian, George W. Bush, Kelsey Grammer, many other members of congress, and… some American painter guy (like I know anything about art) all being killed at once.

I’m sure there are people here who will say they could care less. I just don’t understand how anyone can be nonchalance about something this huge.

        • yankeesjets2310 says:

This is a big deal, and you are 100% correct, it’s sickening that Tiger Woods and Jesse James(Not the Road Dogg) are more important than this story. I saw the news as it was breaking on MSNBC but I didnt know they lost that many people.

        • s1owcheetah says:

That list, minus Kelsey Grammar & Military Officials and maybe Gee Dub – I’m okay with going down a in a plane crash

  14. Robin says:

I wasn’t joking. You go to Yahoo right now and this story is tucked away somewhere near the bottom. A San Francisco Giants player having the team name misspelled on his uniform is currently the top headline! It isn’t even listed as the top story on the MSNBC website either.

I admittedly don’t go out of my way to follow the news that often, which is probably why I missed it for awhile, but when you put into perspective of how devastating this is for Poland, you’d think this would be posted up EVERYWHERE!

    • Charlie says:

Yea, I actually sent MSNBC a note earlier today on their feedback feature saying that they should officially quit calling themselves a news agency. An entire country’s political structure gets crushed and they’re more interested in showing life behind bars. What a joke.

CNN and Fox News aren’t much better.

But that’s American news for you. I think the formula goes.

A list Celebrity affair > Amber Alert for a white girl > off color remark by B-List celebrity > 1 dead American white woman > 50 dead Europeans > entire country’s leadership dead > 500 colored people dead in mudslides

Seriously though, they gave a lot of coverage to the Earthquake in Haiti. Where is the coverage for this? I’m not saying these people are better or worse then the people who died in Haiti. I’m saying that a major country (Poland isn’t exactly Neverheardofitstan) lost 98% of it’s leadership all at once. Kind of a big deal. Quite frankly, I want to hear what happens next for them. Especially since Russia is not very fond of them.

      • LannyPoffo says:

Given that the plane was supposed to land on Russian soil, is it too early to put Jesse Ventura on the case?

I’m not sure MSNBC in particular is as much to blame in this case. Other channels that actually air real-time news on the weekends are choosing not to focus on this; MSNBC usually just punts on Saturdays and Sundays anyway.

That Locked Behind Bars shit is on every Saturday it seems. I assume the rationale is something like “it’s cheaper to run repeats of that than an actual, functioning news desk” but really, who sits through that crap?

On a side note, I hadn’t heard of Jesse James until any of this stuff started popping up, but I was very excited for about 10 seconds upon thinking that there was a cable TV show that somehow allowed the Road Dogg to be its host.

        • Charlie says:

Well those networks need to get their head out of their ass. This was basically the worst case scenario for any government, democratic or otherwise. I want to know how the country is coping, I want to know how they’re going to restaff the government.

Funny enough, presidents can be replaced. It’s the loss of their military leaders that actually could be the more significant blow. Replacing one of them would be easy. Replacing eight of them means someone who would have been eighth in line for such a position (otherwise known as “not qualified”)… this country really could end up being destabilized.

I feel so bad for the Polish people on this one. Haiti, a horrible country run by some of the worst tyrants alive gets wiped off the map and the world is there to say ‘we feel your pain’ (and rightfully so). Poland loses every major person important to it’s government function and it’s barely a blip.

And the Russian conspiracy is already going on, due to the fact that the Polish president had some harsh words for him the day before they left for this peace thing.

That said, even the guys who are still alive in Poland are saying that the plane was a piece of shit in need of replacement but they’re a poor country and can’t afford it. It’s true too. I even read something about that in Newsweek not too long ago, that Poland has the most outdated equipment of the Western World.

The only actual ‘conspiracy’ that I guess I believe in is the death of John Paul I. I’m almost certain he was assassinated. I think he was elected and to Pope and then immediate made plans to be a very left, very liberal Pope and he was done away with because that’s not what was expected of him.

    • guy incognito says:

strange enough to read about the reactions in the US media here because in europe this is BY FAR the biggest news since it happened. weird.

      • Barbarash says:

That is no surprise. When it comes to global affairs.. if they don’t effect the US directly then it’s significantly less news worthy.

        • JimmyHendricks says:

          THIS.

It’s how the American people are as a country as well.

“Oh, the entire Polish government was wiped out? Will that affect us here? Will gas prices go up? No and no? Well, sad for them. Hey, there’s Taylor Lautner in line at Chipotle!!”

There’s also no pictures of the devastation that they can show on TV, either, save for people mourning, which isn’t as big as a big fucking wave hitting the city.
