    My votes:

    -Kane/Taker (I don’t follow TNA)
-Money Inc (but man, that was a tough call)
-Owen/Bulldog was an easy vote for me
-Hart Foundation, but goddamn, that’s a dream match.

  2. flair4dagold says:

Heh, a bit tough calls on this bracket for me:

-Kane/Taker. I’m not a fan of their constant no-sell; but just couldn’t pull the trigger on Beer Money.
-Hollywood Blondes. One of the most underrated tag teams of all time.
-Ole/Arn. Man did I hate this two as a kid.
-Hart Foundation. Too much power on the Hart’s side.

  3. thatnickguy says:

I suddenly got a mental image of Anvil charging at the two them with a double clothesline and the Hardys do a Rocker-like somersault double sell.

It works better if you picture them in their string-bean size when they started.

  4. AlexDeLarge1978 says:

Hart’s vs Hardy’s what a dream match, tough call but Foundation win is only result posible, Made me imagine a Jeff Hardy vs Teddy Hart match.

  5. Mad Dog Joe IS The Mask says:

Come on people, Beer Money is a Well Oiled Machine.. Beer bottle to Kane for the vic.

  6. Haha555 says:

Tough pick between Money Inc and Hollywood Blondes, but result sees Austin selling out Pillman for a couple of thousand for Money Inc to get the win.

  7. Comdukakis says:

wow I have to pick between the crap that is Beer Money and Kane/UT with no draw option???

And then Hardys are gonna get jobbed to the Hart Foundation and I have to select between Owen/Bulldog and Ole/Arn. Hardly seems fair. Let’s shuffle the bracket and revote with UT/Kane and Beer Money seperated.

  8. uknights says:

For the record, I voted three times in the Andersons/Owen-Bulldog match.

The first time I read it as Arn/Tully, so I voted for them, but then I realized it was Ole/Arn, so I voted twice for Owen/Bulldog to offset the original one.

I went Beer Money, Hart Foundation and Hollywood Blondes in addition.

Beer Money has got to be one of the very worst tag team names of all time. Wrestling may be low-class entertainment, but let’s not rub it in.

      • uknights says:

Totally agree, but I just don’t see myself picking too many non-real teams.

      • The Fuj says:

And the BoD aren’t?? I mean really, throughout thier run, they no-sold EVERYTHING.

I give Beer Money the nod due to the fact that they are the few (read: only) organic teams to EVER get over in TNA.

They were given nothing, and you can tell. They were just thrown together and said “make it work”

        AND THEY DID.

Kane and Taker (especially Taker) was given every chance to get over… and in Taker’s case, he had enough pull to put over teams and make some real money, but did he?

        Nope.

        • I barely follow TNA myself but weren’t America’s Most Wanted an organic team that got over in TNA? I’m assuming by organic, you mean home-grown which is why I’m not mentioning LAX since I believe they came from ROH, although I could be wrong.

        • The Fuj says:

AMW didn’t come out to James Storm and Chris Harris when first billed, they came out as “AMW”

Plus they were projects of Jarrett, hardly makes them organic.

Also there were 2 versions of LAX before it caught on.

Storm/Roode were two upper mid carders with no direction in 08. They were put together right after Victory Road cuz they couldnt push neither to the main event.

      • thatnickguy says:

        Two words: Head. Cheese.

        You stand corrected, sir.

  9. 5 Star List says:

Beer Money (surprised the lack of love for BM), Blondes (though Inc are also great), Owen Hart & British Bulldog (only seen a couple Anderson matches), Hart Foundation (tough call).

    • nwa88 says:

Yeah BOD is a terrible name too. I wasn’t at all commentating on the talent of the teams, just the names. BM > BOD for sure in any other measure.

Here’s something weird I read in an old SI article — Mr. Fuji’s salt was originally said to be “volcanic dust from Mt. Fuji” — was it ever actually promoted that way? The Fuj?

      • The Fuj says:

        SI- Sports Illustrated?

AFAIK, I never heard that, but its wrestling, the same sport that has the Macho/Steph rumor.

        I’ll go with it.

        • nwa88 says:

          Yup, Sports Illustrated.

Speaking of Macho — I read another article:

The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC)
July 9, 1995 McMahon fires verbal volley at WCW

Here is an interesting quote relating to Savage:

“I was very hurt with Randy,” said McMahon. “Randy and I have been friends. Still are. Estranged friends. I was hurt by that. I thought it was a bad business decision on Randy’s part and I think time has proven that to be true. It’s hurt me personally. It was a handshake type of situation. I believe in handshakes. I upheld my end of the deal in a handshake and I don’t think Randy did and it bothered me, not just from a business perspective.”

“Career-wise he’s (Savage) jumped off a ledge. Whatever happened to Randy Savage, the Macho Man? Now again, I understand was getting up there in years when he was here, but we protected him. Just as we were going to protect Hulk Hogan. You don’t send him out there to the arenas every night. First of all, physically they’re not capable of doing that. But beyond that you have to be very selective and judicial in use of stars that become superstars, because otherwise they burn out very quickly.”

  10. OutbackJames says:

Love Beer Money. Great team, as faces and heels.

  11. scalaaz says:

I’m guessing Money Inc. beats the Blondes when Pillman takes the money and announces that he respects the “bookerman,” leaving Austin in a 2-on-1 predicament.

Gotta pull for the Ultimate Hart Foundation match pitting Bret and Anvil vs. Owen and Bulldog, and Beer Money vs. Kane and Taker? Dead men walking!

  12. “It was a handshake type of situation. I believe in handshakes.”

So Bret forgot to shake his hand in Montreal then? ;)

  13. jvc113 says:

I think you have to vote for the Harts and Owen/Bulldog to set up that dream match.

We had Bret/Bulldog v. Owen/Neidhart in ‘94, and it was pretty awesome. Could you images the Harts at their peak v. Owen/Bulldog at THEIR peek? I think I just came a little.

  14. Thanks for the explanation, Fuj. I understand things more clearly now and that’s always good. :)
