Not sure why Vince made them pseudo jobbers for so long, but who can figure Vince out sometimes. I mean, he turned a bad ass hardcore team like the Sheepherders into a comedy team.

The Rockers in the AWA had some pretty phenomenal matches and held the belts for a while.

Right. But Shawn was still on a lot of the old Coliseum tapes. I guess they knew talent when they saw it. Even regarding the Shawn/jobber thing, I think if one looked back you would see that Marty seemed to take the pin more than Shawn.
The Demos winning would have made things more interesting. Someone was right earlier when they said that Doom advanced because of their (its?) draw. Give the Demos that draw, they advance to the sweet sixteen.
My first paragraph gives me an interesting thought. Help please, if you can. Has anyone else ever noticed in classic tag teams if one partner took a disproportionate number of pins compared to another, such as Marty to Shawn. Did Smash take more pins than Ax? Hawk than Animal? Rick than Scott? These are just some ideas.

That's interesting and pretty much true. I remember watching one of the old WWF Supertape VHS tapes and seeing a "profile" on The Rockers that had them losing 2/3 matches they were featured in. But yeah -- they were one of my favorite teams too, just a notch below the Harts.

Here's an interesting thought: If Demolition is inducted, do Brian Adams and Randy Colley (the original Smash) go in, too?

The Rockers did face LOD in the WWF in early 1992. For the titles. LOD won, as some Rocker miscommunication got in the way. It was during the Rocker break-up angle. It was a Superstars match.

One of the oddest things about becoming an IWC member (if you will) was learning that people considered the Rockers one of the great teams of that era. Now, I was a Rocker mark at age 7, but looking back, they were jobbers. I mean, they were right down there with the Bushwhackers as far as being the JTTS for other tag teams. Wrestlemania VII was their first PPV win. I guess I assumed though it was because they were good workers. And love for Michaels.

I'd like to see Ravishing Rick Rude get the nod but I suppose they don't want too many dead people (Road Warrior Hawk) per year.

Ooh, those are some good matchups. I'm pretty sure that the Road Warriors had left for Atlanta by the time the Midnight Rockers debuted in the AWA. That could have been a great match.

I'm watching AWA on ESPN Classic right now and Ricky Morton just had a match. I don't remember the RnRs having an AWA run. The Rockers are still there, in fact defending against Badd Company later.

Since we're talking about The LODd and Demolition...

----For what it's worth, names that have been discussed the most lately for the 2010 WWE Hall of Fame are Ted DiBiase, the Road Warriors, Demolition and Slick.

There are a lot of rumors about Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger and The Honky Tonk Man being inducted also. Ron Simmons is also said to be a possibility.

Out of all these names, Ted DiBiase is considered the strongest possibility.
