The Outsiders v. The New Age Outlaws would have made millions back in 1998.
I picked E&C (though I love the Quebecers), NAO (both teams drew lots of money, but Outsiders never had any good matches), Megapowers (it was a tossup), MNX (I like both, but MNX are legendary).
Hmm, I don’t recall the NAO ever having even decent matches and they were never over more than Hall and Nash. I mean, we’re talking the founders of the hottest angle in professional wrestling in the last 15 years.
NAO NEVER had a good match. They fact that they were over just helped immensely.
I always believed that NAO did as much for the DX army, as the DX Army did for the NAO. They were over by being smarter than the LOD, but really outside of Road Doggs opening mic schtick, they were nothing after the bell.
I’ve got E&C, the NAO somehow stealing a victory yet again, the Koloffs (Megapowers explode! Again!), and Midnight Express. That last one is going to be complete destruction, I think.
Man, E&C VS Midnights would have fucking OWNED it if that match could ever happen. Except they’re both better as heels, so it’s hard to know how to book it.
I don’t know what it is, but I always considered the Outsiders to be two main eventers put together because Hogan always had the title. The Outlaws were a huge part of the Attitude era and at their peak, were the most over tag team I’ve ever seen.
megapowers explode. They only had two matches in them and this is number two. Hogan tries to pick up on Savage’s woman AGAIN and Savage rightfully beats his ass down. The Koloff’s applaud Savage’s rightousness and then pin Hogan, immediately jumping off after the three count and cursing the “leathery skin that feels like fine Corinthian leather” of the American capitalist.
* Edge & Christian – just like with PE, they’re better cheating bastards than the Quebecers (although the TO/Montreal rivalry would’ve made for fun dueling promos)
* Outsiders – Road Dogg would get absolutely slaughtered by the younger, motivated Hall. As a demented sideshow, you could have Syxx and China pair off and … ugh, nevermind, I just ate.
* Megapowers – I don’t think this is when Savage snaps. But Hogan/Nikita would make for a cool moment.
* Midnights – Morrison and Lane have their Enter the Dragon moment, but Miz gets a tennis racket and an Alabama Jam upside his head.
without Demolition in it, i really don’t care anymore..
but here’s to hoping the Koloff’s pull off the upset.. but yeah, i’m out..
hard to believe with the god awful ring work of Hawk that they beat Demoliton, huh? Very sad voting.
Something tells me it’s gonna be E & C vs. the Midnights for the finals of this bracket.
This was the easiest draw to pick yet.
E&C, Outsiders, Megapowers and MNX.
I’m already puzzled over who i’m going to pick between the Megapowers and the Midnights…that’s going to be tough.
I picked the same people.
I smelling MX/E+C in the finals myself.

The NOA did?
oops NOA.
wow i’m dumb, twice…NAO
Yes, as part of DX. Plus they were super over.

NAO had a good match with the new Midnights at KOTR 98. I also remember a good match they had with Edge & Christian in one of the filler PPVs.
Their matches with Foley & Funk were also entertaining,

You let the fans dictate the match.
If we are talking each team in its prime, then the fan would go bat shit crazy for Cornette, thus making E+C de facto face.
From there just go through the motions and have Christian play Ricky Morton and go from there.
This was the easiest group for me.
E&C, NAO, Megapowers and Midnights.

I like how you call The Outsiders “two main eventers put together” and voted against them, yet still voted for The Megapowers.
I went with:

I am SHOCKED there’s 1500+ votes being cast.
What, are people voting 30 times each?
