Spider-Man and Dr. Monster’s Ultra Poison!

Yes, Japanese Spider-Man is a real thing that actually happened in the 70s.  Japan interprets Spider-Man in their own unique way, complete with giant robot fighting action and inspiring theme song.  Has nothing to do with the comics in any way, of course, but how can you argue with DOCTOR MONSTER!?

Bonus fact! The popularity of the Japanese Spider-Man series, complete with it’s Giant Robot, was the main reason why Toei began to have their Super Sentai shows (the basis for Power Rangers) begin to incorporate Giant Robots into subsequent Sentai shows.

What was your favorite TV Spider-Man, live action and/or cartoon? (By my count, you have: ’60s Spidey, Japanese Spidey, Hammond Spidey, Electric Co. Spidey, 1981 short-lived cartoon Spidey, Amazing Friends Spidey, Fox Spidey, MTV Spidey, and Spectacular Spidey)

Nope, the sports bars in my area were INSANELY packed, to the point where our group couldn’t even find seats an hour before the show started, so we eventually gave up and said fuck it. I wasn’t gonna pay $60 for the PPV either, but I’ll probably download it tomorrow.
