UFC top 100

Anyone watching the "Top 100 Fights” series on Spike?  Really awesome stuff and it’s got me very pumped for UFC 100 on Saturday.  It’s a tad political to say the least, but it just makes it all the better when Dana White completely BURIES Tito Ortiz when introducing his fights (and they only show the fights he loses, of course).  And it’s mainly a Couture lovefest, of course, but he’s probably the best UFC fighter of all-time, so why not?  The politics probably mean that my all-time favorite fight, Frank Shamrock v. Tito Ortiz, won’t make the list, and neither will the Ken Shamrock v. Tito Ortiz one either.  But the list has been excellent otherwise, with a good mix of newer and older stuff and even respect paid to the freakshow early days with Royce Gracie and Tank Abbot.

Question is, is there any serious contender to #1 other than Griffin v. Bonnar?  Guess we’ll find out tomorrow night.

I think Dana has gone on record saying Hughes vs. Trigg 2 is his favorite fight…

But I still think overall Griffin vs Bonnar 1 will win.

I can’t wait for UFC 100!!! I hope Brock eats Mir….and mostly I hope the card lives up to the hype and like how all the fights were awesome for UFC 91 when Brock beat Randy.

I agree that Frank vs Tito should be on the list, preferably somewhere in the top 10. And while it’s funny to hear Dana bury Tito, it’s petty at the same time. Even Randy insists that Tito ducked Chuck Liddell as long as he could, but give Tito credit for fighting Ken Shamrock and scoring (at the time) the UFC’s highest PPV buyrate ever, not to mention basically carrying the company before and in the early days of the Zuffa purchase.

Actually met Tito Ortiz here in Pittsburgh about 2 weeks ago. Hell of a nice guy, extremely accommodating with fans.
