KARMA!

…karma.

Boy, I guess Vince has finally had enough of Mr. Kennedy.  I never saw the upside of the guy and never saw a great singles match with him, so I hope TNA enjoys all the injuries.   Truly someone who needed to learn to keep his mouth shut if he’s not towing the company line.

That being said, maybe he’ll work the indies and develop into a great wrestler and return again, but for now, good riddance.

I thought “do massive amounts of steroids and then say you don’t touch the stuff” WAS the company line.

Never liked the guy. Never liked what little bit of a personality he had, never liked the terrible face turn, never liked his odd moveset, never liked his look, never liked his t-shirts, never liked his catchphrases, never liked his disposition and fuck him for blatantly lying about his steroid use.

    Total Nonstop Action! Action!

    and if WWE owns that…

    Total Nonstop Action! Action! ACTION!

Yeah, say it three times! That’ll get you over for sure!

I remember when Edge totally buried him in a promo on Raw. “Yeah, say your name twice. Riveting!” It’s funny ‘cos it’s true. Kennedy = overrated. Hopefully he doesn’t break his hand while he signs the TNA contract!

I think it’s a shame, really. I completely understand why WWE would dump the guy, but I must say he had a lot of potential and I dug him when he was actually on the active roster.

Oh, well. It’s not like he would have changed the wrestling world anyway or got me to start watching again. Enjoy the headaches, TNA.

To me, he seemed like someone who could have been a franchise player after a little fine tuning. I really would have liked to see the original “illegitimate McMahon” storyline play itself out.

I thought he was going to be a huge star after his match with Batista at the 2007 Rumble where Batista mailed it in and Kennedy ended up carrying the match. It was nothing special, a couple stars max, but the crowd reacted to him like a star.

But he basically cooked himself with his retarded post-Benoit comments. Regardless of getting caught, just his inane comments were enough to turn me against him.

Watch that match again, it was the other way around. That being said, I always thought he had a tremendous upside. He had good matches with Undertaker, Edge, Matt Hardy, HBK (who doesn’t, right?) and Batista as mentioned. He could actually talk on his own, unlike MOST of the roster and I thought he had that unknown charisma factor. Albeit, his face turn completely ruined his character.

It looked like they were going to “re-do” the Bastard Son storyline, since Vince is back, and with Hornswoggle/Ken on Raw. It would have been a MONEY fued with heel Mr. Kennedy versus the boss’s REAL son HHH.

Are you saying that Batista carried Kennedy in the Royal Rumble match? It’s been a while since I watched it but I definitely remember Kennedy doing all the work. In fact, I think the reason Batista-Undertaker didn’t headline WM23 was because Batista had been abysmal in the ring since his return in mid-2006.

I enjoyed his short feud with HBK in late 2007 as well. When he wanted to, Kennedy could give good promos that didn’t just rely on saying his name twice.

I can understand WWE’s decision here. It’s not for want of trying with Kennedy, he had programmes with Undertaker, Batista, HBK and won MITB. I think he was also credited with putting Bobby Lashley out of commission. But being so injury prone and saying stupid things in public meant they didn’t really have a choice.

I remember something about this – what did he say post-Benoit?

          • WireTap804 says:

He demanded to go on news shows (nobody ever asked him to) and tell the world that steroids were not a problem in wrestling anymore and that he hadn’t used steroids since signing with WWE.

With his luck being what it is, the Signature Pharmacy ’scandal’ happened literally days later.

You know, I liked the guy when they did his original vignettes, “The Mister Kennedy Declares…” bits. The one on Myspace is still one of my all-time favorite introductory videos on any WWE character, ever:

I’m not surprised he was cut given the WWE’s budget issues and the fact that he has been of little to no use to them for some time. Still, I liked the guy… better than Randy Orton, for instance, who is all look, gives boring interviews has dull, predictable matches, and is pushed so much that the first half hour of every week’s Raw is virtually unwatchable.
