Dunno what’s stranger about this clip, Vince McMahon talking about the Von Erichs back in the day, or Vince talking about Sal Bellomo being a force to be reckoned with.

And I have no clue what they were supposed to be leading up to here, as I only know about Kerry doing a few MSG shots in the early 80s.

Allied Powers

What are your thoughts on the line-up for the new "Greatest Tag Teams" DVD?  Details can be found here:

I’m sure I’ll buy it.  That being said, it shows how things are going when Miz & Morrison are the hosts and then are split up months before it releases.  Maybe they’ll be back together by the time it comes out, who knows.

Anyway, I wish they would have went with the Fantastics/MX title change from Worldwide Wrestling instead of the Bash match (even though both are awesome) or even an RNR/MX match (like it’s a DVD about TAG TEAMS and you don’t get one of those?) but the rest is a good sampling of stuff from the 80s and 2000s.  You’ve got Russians v. Rock N Roll, Freebirds v. Von Erichs, the 87 Crockett Cup finals, a few rarities, a few overdone classics…it seems like it’ll be a good set.  There’s also a couple of Demolition matches, which is nice because they’ve been getting short shrift as of late on these things.

House for 24!

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Seriously, no discussion of the season finales for [House and 24]?  You used to talk about them a lot, but I haven't heard much this season.

House was kind of iffy for me all season, as the Foreteen stuff bored me for weeks at a time and that was all they were concentrating on.  The finale was pretty intense as usual, but confusing as all hell.  I LOVED having Amber back, though, and I’m hoping she sticks around as his conscience, much like the original plan for Wilson was going to be.  And I don’t know if Hugh Laurie is ever gonna get his Emmy, but they keep trying.

As for 24, I was waiting for Fox to send me the Blu-Ray this week, but apparently it’s not happening so I’ll go ahead and give my opinion now.  It was a good finale!  I was having doubts because the show was going completely off the rails again in the last few episodes, but they managed to wrap everything up nicely at the end, and even had something of a cliffhanger to finish as well.  Plus Tony got hauled off in chains instead of dying, practically yelling “I’LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, GADGET!” so you know there’s a badass rematch coming.  Overall, I think that they had no fucking clue what they were doing once they killed off Dubaku and every other bad guy on the show and still had 10 hours left in the season, but it was a hell of a lot better than season 6 or even season 5 for that matter, so I’m there for Hour 8.  Maybe they can even reform Kim’s character enough to turn her into the new star.  Going DAMMIT a lot is a good start.
