The SmarK 24/7 Rant for the Monday Night Wars - September 11 1995

- So one of the reasons why this channel likely would have annoyed me in the long run anyway (besides the god-awful "Large and In Charge motif for April) is that they're resetting the Monday Night Wars shows all the way back to the beginning in 1995 again. So instead of two 97/98 era shows per month, it's now one show per month and two 95 era shows. Like I really want to watch 1995 RAWs again. But in the spirit of "review everything before it's done next week", I figured I might as well do weeks 2 and 3 of the Monday Night Wars. On the bright side, it's only 90 minutes total for both shows instead of the unwieldy 3.5 hours or so it's up to now.

The SmarK DVD Rant for The Greatest Stars of the 90s

- Hosted by Tazz. This is similar to the 80s DVD in that it's broken down into a series of mini-biographies on the stars of the decade, but it's one big documentary disc first, followed by a pair of bonus match discs.

HHH-Edge

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Hi Scott,
After the recent draft in WWE I was looking at the main-event scene and it occurred to me that HHH and Edge have never had a main-event programme since Edge broke the glass ceiling in 2006. I know they did Rated-RKO vs DX but that was cut short and obviously not a one-on-one feud. And I'm not counting their match at GAB last year because they didn't have a feud - the match was just background noise in the Edge-Vickie saga.
I'm really surprised at this because Edge has been WWE's best heel since 2006 so you'd think HHH would want the feud to get more cheers. It seemed like a sure thing after Edge took the title from Hunter at Survivor Series last year but instead they focused on Edge-Jeff and then put HHH with Orton at Wrestlemania. So my question is - any idea why this feud hasn't happened? Is it just co-incidence or something more to it? I thought that perhaps Edge has intentionally steered clear of a feud with HHH in case he's buried. Alternatively, I thought it might also be possible that HHH has avoided the feud because of the Edge-HHH-Cena promos before Backlash 2006. HHH often likes to embarrass his opponents in promos by mentioning "behind the scenes" stuff (e.g. Masters, Hardy, Big Show) but in this case, Edge actually gave it back to him and, in my opinion, embarrassed Hunter on more than one occasion.

Just a coincidence.  HHH v. Edge was one of the many “set in stone” plans for Wrestlemania 25 last year before everything changed 1800 times, so there’s no malice on either side that I’m aware of.
