Oh, DC, what the fuck?  The Dark Knight is the highest grossest movie in a decade and Batman should be the hottest character in comics right now, so they KILL HIM?  In an "event" series that apparently no one is reading, at least among casual readers.  I checked out Final Crisis and frankly didn’t get anything that was going on to begin with, and then Batman gets fried by Omega Beams?  That’s his exit from the DC Universe?  And he kills Darkseid with a gun?  What is this, a dream sequence with every out of character moment they can squeeze in?  Neither one is going to stick and you know the backlash would be huge if they stuck anyone else in the Batman identity AGAIN, so I don’t get what they’re going for here. 

Epic fail.
