Long day
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008OK, the problems with the comments are fixed, thanks to Joe for pointing it out to me.
I was going to do a mailbag this morning but then I nearly died, literally, as my flu worsened again and my fever hit 104 by the time Jodi got home in the afternoon. Since I’ve had it for a few days now this was obviously a worry, and I ended up taking a trip from the clinic to the ER in record time and having all sorts of blood taken while sweating my temperature down to normal thanks to super-duper-strength Advil. The initial fear was either West Nile Virus or meningitis (hence the priority treatment today) but it appears to be just a really nasty strain of the flu and everyone’s taking a wait-and-see attitude. I’m really kind of disappointed that even here in the days of modern medicine the most anyone can recommend is "drink lots of fluids and stay in bed" but I guess if it still works, then great. I’m totally ready for this go away now, though, especially with vacation coming up next week.
