Scary but awesome

Hey Scott, this is the guy that put all your ***+ matches into a spreadsheet, so I've put it to good use with a site I've been making, which will cover all your star ratings. I've been working casually on it since June and so far I just have the WWE PPV, Analysis and DVD section completed.

See, now I have somewhere to send people when they ask me for star ratings on my stuff.  Excellent job, although Tripod licks ass.

    HOLY SHIT !!!

No offence SK (I love your stuff as much as the next guy), but does this guy have ANYTHING else going on in his life?

Great work all around, and I am sure I’ll be referencing the site in the future.

    But DAMN !!!

Nope, I don’t :( I actuality wanted to make a wrestling site, but knew my site was gonna get lost in the shuffle so wanted to create a type of site no-one else has done yet.

Even so, I don’t really have time to update it with work and such, so you can probably expect an update every couple of weeks.

I forgot to add, if you don’t see as specific match on one of the cards, it’s because Scott didn’t assign a * rating to it.

It’s still somewhat creepy to see Benoit’s name at the top of so many of those lists. I know WWE are doing their best to erase him from history but as sites like this prove, he was an integral figure for so long. It will be fascinating to see how things evolve over time and whether there’ll ever come a point where people will be able to read his name without immediately thinking of the sheer horror. I’m guessing probably not.

Some of the Benoit matches, I thought Scott had over-rated IMO, but Scott was a big mark for the guy, so that probably explains it.

I know it may seem controversial, but I don’t think Benoit should ever be forgotten for all the good he’s done to the wrestling industry. Plus the wrestling biz is full of scumbags who have done scummy things, so I don’t think it’s right to single out Benoit in that regard.

“…the wrestling biz is full of scumbags who have done scummy things, so I don’t think it’s right to single out Benoit in that regard.”

Scummy things? I think KILLING HIS FAMILY is a little bit more than just a “scummy thing”.

I’m not saying he should be erased from history either, but come on…let’s put a little perspective on what he did.

        • t-man says:

Heh, you got a point. I guess I just don’t like how Benoit gets separated when all the other wrestlers aren’t angels either. I felt the same way about Rob Feinstein back in the day.

        • BMac13 says:

I think you separate Benoit from other wrestlers with character flaws the same way OJ is separated from other football players who have had run-ins with the law. I know he was acquitted, but OJ obviously killed 2 people, one of whom was his ex-wife. For the bad wrap guys like Tank Johnson and Ricky Williams get, we inherently understand that was OJ did, much like what Benoit did, is on a completely different level.

Plus, as has been established, Benoit was suffering from physical brain damage among other things. He had a 20-year history of being a consummate professional and class act in the business, highly thought of by his co-workers. Fro people to somehow consider that an aberration in the wake of his terrible final actions, rather than the other way around, is ridiculous IMO.

    • John Sorrow says:

      He’s a child murderer.

      • Bisch says:

        Sounds pretty “terrible” to me.

        • Cucch187 says:

It is a tough thing to do, but to use the OJ analogy from above, the NFL does not erase the fact the man ran for 2000 yards in a season. Much like you cannot erase what Benoit contributed to pro wrestling, as there is not an equivalent way to measure wrestling milestones to legitimate sports. While there is no condoning what Benoit did to his family, there has to be a separation of accomplishment and reality. Hell, any NFL program will still mention OJ, even as he makes a farce of himself on the meanest golf courses in the land. And i still would not discount the effect of concussions on Benoits psyche at the time. Don’t believe me? Reference Royal Rumble ‘01, the ladder match vs. Jericho…the suicide dive into a chair. Magnify that by diving headbutts EVERY NIGHT and you have the definition of brain damage.
