Farewell to Fiddy?

Even I was tempted to buy a copy of Graduation to do my part towards getting 50 Cent off the music charts, but I figured that being Canadian would render my vote meaningless anyway given our smaller sales numbers.  Still, I made sure to encourage people buying CDs at work today to go with Kanye instead of 50, and he ended up outselling 50 by about 2-to-1 at the end of the day.

Not that anyone expects 50 to actually follow through on his retirement promise, but I can dream.

His video game sucks so bad Hastings was GIVING IT AWAY this last week and still couldn’t get rid of it. Seriously, brand new copies were FREE, just walk in and take them, and they still have some left.

This is “elitist” music talk. Give me a break.

The “elitist” thing refers to the tastes of the posters, not mine. As you have so ably demonstrated.

You’d think getting shot nine times would humble a man…

Kanye West is no better, as he announced he was boycotting MTV because he didn’t win one of their crappy awards, because - as he puts it - he’s black. Seriously, the VMAs are even more worthless than the Grammys.

That’s Kanye’s conclusion to everything…so MTV can be added to the list of George Bush and the Grammies for “not liking black people”.

What’s even funnier is that MTV revolves around hip hop and r & b which is what, 95% black musicians? He is what they call ignorant.

I thought MTV revolved around crappy reality shows?

Isn’t this whole thread like choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwhich?

I bought the Kanye simply because I want 50 to retire! The album was purely a bonus. Kanye has become almost unbearable, but he’s produced two awesome Common albums, so it’s all good.

They were playing Kanye at my local record store. (T-Bone Records Hattiesburg, MS Represent)It didn’t sound that bad. Everyone working that day was recommening it over 50. I have to admit though, I’ve heard both guys give interviews and 50 sounds like a much cooler guy. Either way, it’s not like there’s much else coming out worth your time. The last album I got excited about was The Good the Bad and The Queen and that was months ago.
