Butcher Plug

Hi Scott,
This is from an old WWF video, best of the WWF Vol. 1 IIRC. You’ve seen
it before I’m sure. But I figured it’s worth a plug.
It’s long but gets very funny at times. Involved is Capt. Lou, Dr. Death
David Shultz, Jessie the Body, Freddie Blassie, some midgets and more.
Funny parts included stuff that Shultz does (cake! If you remember it)
and towards the end of the 2nd part Captain Lou and some guys rip off
the shirt of some masked female wrestler, Vince has to get her out of
there and you see him briefly trying to console her.

Ah, 80s WWF.  I don’t think I’ve ever done Best Of Volume 1, actually.

Actually, this footage is from ‘Bloopers, Bleeps and Bodyslams’ not ‘Best of the WWF Vol. 1′. I own both and the highlight of BB&B for me was Vince Mcmahon dancing to a Polish polka with GUSTO. Most of the tape I found was junk though, the whole wedding sketch went on WAYYYY too long for me.

Best of the WWF Vol. 1 is pretty decent, it’s got an early example of cruiserweights, the famous Mohammad Ali angle with Gorilla Monsoon and a couple of good matches between Bruno Samartino and Larry Zbysko. Unfortunately, it also contains the ENTIRE Mean Gene/Hulk Hogan angle but hey, nothing’s perfect. ;p

Like Megane67 said, its from “Bloopers, Bleeps and Bodyslams” which was truly comedy at its best. I loved the Wedding Sketch for two reasons: Lou Albano belching and Dr. D David Shultz. Of course, being blackballed might explain why he’ll never have a “TWENTY YEARS TOO SOON” DVD of his work. The guy was a dead image redneck clone of what Austin was doing the the late 1990’s as both a heel and a face. “You talked to everybody else and treat me like a piece of trash. I’ll toast myself, now get away because I’m feeling hostile right now.”

Bloopers also features the greatest comment from the IRON SHIEK that didn’t feature the words “humble” or “f**k his ass” and it was “I LOVE TO EAT MY CAMEL.”

This is another post on another video that WWF came out with in 1987 “Wrestling’s Most Embarassing Moments” and some of them might have been staged, but the ones with Lord Alfred and Mene Gene were funny as hell.

There is one where Mene Gene and Alfred break up when Mene Gene talks about Koko B. Ware have a finishing move where “he goes up on the top rope with a flying . . .” and then Alfred bursts into laughter. What was so sad, if it was staged that Mene Gene was breaking up from Alfred’s laughing regardless.

There was one where Mene Gene had a plunger in his hand, and Alfred had a cricket bat in his.

Or the staged bit at the first Slammys where Monsoon has his fly undone. I saw the first 1985 slammy show and boy did it SUCK outside of the “highlights” which just sucked in small letters. I did love the 1985 backstage area with the big WWF logo behind a simple blue wall though. Those were the days . . .
