Ah, it’s good to be back again with something other than reality TV to watch.
Simpsons was pretty bleh, as usual, but Stephen Colbert brought the awesome so it was OK in the end.
However, Family Guy was balls-out fantastic from an artistic standpoint. Although there have been funnier episodes of the show, they haven’t done anything that’s touched the Star Wars ep from a creative standpoint, as they managed to duplicate shots from the movie perfectly and built upon it with geeky jokes and observations on the movie. Plus the Robot Chicken bit at the end was just tremendous as well. If only all of their episodes could be that focused and thought-out. On the negative side, Jodi was bored silly because she’s never seen Star Wars and didn’t get any of the millions of jokes about it, so I can see how it wouldn’t work for non-dweebs. Either way, my favorite episode of the show in a LONG time.
All I need now is new eps of Iron Chef America and it’s perfect TV night again.
Reader Dave Holmes sent me this lineup for Wrestling Fan Fest, posing the question as to whether or not it could be on par with Heroes of Wrestling.

Aside from the fact that every match has some silly subtitle (What’s a “Tag Team” match? Sounds exotic!) at least this show is comprised of actual wrestlers who have been wrestling within the last, oh, 10 years or so. The conceit with HOW was that we’d pay money to watch nostalgia matches between guys who were never very good in the first place, and we all know how THAT turned out. This just looks bad, not legendary, I’m afraid.
