Scott’s Blog of Doom

So having blown through the rest of Season One of Heroes, I’d have to say it totally lived up to the hype and then some.  And for that matter, count me in as being on the “good finale” side as well.  The major complaint about the finale seems to be the lack of Peter-Sylar smackdown, but these aren’t seasoned superheroes like the Justice League out there throwing around their powers — it’s a show about ordinary people dealing with the extraordinary, and in real life your first instinct is still going to be throwing old-fashioned punches at a guy instead of going invisible and phasing your fist through his head.  The Five Years Later episode was probably my favorite, followed closely by Company Man of course, but it was so refreshing throughout to have a show where someone was actually paying attention to continuity and paying stuff off from earlier in the season and such.  Consider me a convert, and now I’m anxiously awaiting season two, although luckily Sasktel is installing a PVR on Wednesday and thus I won’t have to choose between this and 24 on Monday nights now.
