Sunday, September 2nd, 2007Just had to get something off my chest: I fucking hate those Visa commercials. HATE THEM. You know, the ones where all the mechanized sheep are paying for fast food with their Visa and someone’s trying to use cash so everyone else ostracizes them and acts like they’re an idiot? Well no fucking wonder North America is in so much debt if this is the kind of message that they’re trying to send out. “Taking five seconds to pay within your means is rude and insensitive, so just go deeper into debt instead”. And who pays for a TACO with a credit card? That’s the REAL asshole here. Good on the people paying cash! If the opinions of a bunch of people in a food court matter one lick to you, you can fucking die anyway. And if some kid behind the counter in the food court was rolling his eyes at me because I don’t have a Visa, I probably wouldn’t want to eat there.
Here in Canada that ad wouldn’t even fly, because no one even uses cash anymore, it’s all debit cards, which are just as fast as credit cards if you’re the impatient type.
