Ballpark Plug

Fucking wireless internet cards on laptops.  I finally joined the cool kids and got a laptop for cheap on TigerDirect.ca, so that I can write the new book on the road if need be, but getting the internal wireless card to see my wireless router proved to be a four hour exercise in frustration.  But a combination of updating the useless Broadcom drivers and telling the router not to block all incoming MAC addresses fixed it, and all is good and now I can update the blog from my porch if I want to, so huzzah.

Anyway...

"Since you were nice enough to plug last year's show, I'm wondering if you can do the same this year!

Ballpark Brawl VIII will be held on August 23rd at Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, NY.

Lineup includes Samoa Joe vs. Rikishi (Natural Heavyweight Championship), 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Joey Matthews, Matt Cross vs. Ruckus, a women's match featuring Tracy Brooks and Gail Kim, and 7 other matches. Also making appearances will be Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, "The Doctor of Style" Slick, and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

More information is available at BallparkBrawl.com.

Thanks a bunch!"

No problem.  Rikishi v. Samoa Joe is a match that could probably draw a few bucks for the right promotion, in fact.

setting up a wireless router can definitely be a pain in the ass… One of the reasons I quit being an in home tech for ccity.

And I wonder how long it is before Umaga has an identity crisis of his own and starts dancing around pop lockin like Rikishi…

Hey scott, looked all over this site, can’t find your contact info. You should make a “contact me” button. Anyways can i have your email? i would like to talk to you about hooking you up with some wrestling stuff i’m sure you don’t have!

Hehe, funny, Umaga will soon be doing the “you can’t see me” move when he tags with John Cena.

Off topic. I was reading a Hulk Hogan article and now he wants to make a new wrestling organization to compete with the WWE. Some of the funny things in his interview is that he was angry cause at last year’s Summer Slam when he fought Randy Orton he was supposed to be at the main event slot. He also said that he was supposed to be at the main event at this year’s WrestleMania. Did Hulk Hogan forgot that he’s like 60 years old and this isn’t 1990??? Here’s the interview:

      Love this part:

“f you look at the numbers when I was in WCW, we used to beat them every week.

We had three times the audience of Vince. He was facing bankruptcy.

Then AOL merged with Time Warner and said we do not want wrestling on our stations, and that was the end of WCW.”

I didn’t realize that WCW closed down right as they were about to deal the death blow to the WWF. What were those morons at AOL thinking??

I swear to god Hogan is the only person alive that can make me appreciate Vince.

The wanker is so full of his own shit – “When I was in WCW…”, “When I wrestled Orton…” And he pretty much makes clear he intends to headline his own promotion…friggin’ tool!

It’s funny, because the first time I set up my wireless router with my laptop, it went fairly smoothly, all things considered. Then I got a new desktop computer and had to reinstall the wireless router software, and my laptop refused to recognize the router. Took me forever to figure out how to fix the problem.

In the words of Gorilla Monsoon, Rikishi vs Samoa Joe is a main event anywhere in the country!

I went to the Ballpark Brawl, I think it was two or three years ago now. I’ll be trying to make this year’s too. It was pretty cool (main event was Snow/Candido), the only problem was it took them a LONG time to set up after the ball game.
