You knew this was coming
Apparently the next TNA PPV is going to be Joe v. Angle part seven million, this time with every title in the company on the line. Plus one that’s not even a real belt! They should just have Joe go steal some old WCW TV belt from the garbage like Jim Duggan did and defend that, too, because it’s just as valid as Angle carrying the IWGP title around.
Anyway, I don’t know who they think they’re kidding here, but this feud is beyond tired and they already peaked 8 months ago as far as casual interest with it. It’s too little too late as far as making Joe a big star if he beats Angle now, because you only get that one chance to pull the trigger before fans start seeing someone as Just Another Guy and they blew it with Joe. Not to mention that having Joe crush a perfectly good X Division champion just to have another belt to cart around was exactly the kind of short-sighted thing that Vince Russo made his name on. And hey, the tag titles on the line in a singles match, gotta love that.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Is that true? Every company belt in one match? That’s retarded. I don’t watch TNA but it seems like Angle & Joe have been feuding for nine years without the superlatives following their matches, like what Joe/Styles did to the Internet.
Who cares though because I may never leave the house in August. Check out the 24/7 schedule…wow.

That is a lot of JYD.
A lot of goodness mixed in too. A random Prime Time epsiode from ‘89, the classic ‘89 SummerSlam and the shorties are outdoor matches, which I’m a mark for. That’s why I think WrestleMania 24 outside in Orlando is going to be fantastic.
Even the gold medals are on the line!!!
First and foremost, am I the only one who is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that Angle’s going to win this?
Secondly, have they thought about the fact that, if they want to…y’know…CHANGE THINGS UP A BIT after this…this same guy who wins all the belts is going to have to lose at least three times, probably in a short time span?
“Secondly, have they thought about the fact…”
Did you seriously write that about the people this company employs?
But hey, anything that gives the Orlando crowd a chance to chant “TNA!” and “This is awesome!” a million times is well worth it to them.
Seriously though, they could have two monkeys having sex in the ring and those guys would chant “This is awesome!” over and over. King of devalues the meaning of the word “awesome” and I refuse to use it even when my buddy buys me a Red Bull at the Quick Chek now. So sad.
I quit watching TNA when Jarrett won the title BACK from Christian. That was stupid. This is stupid. Their show is stupid. Their PPV’s have some good wrestling, I will give them that, but there is so many distractions it..well..distracts from the in-ring stuff. Samoa Joe should have won the belt from Christian over a year ago, IMO. Anyway, like I said, I don’t watch their product, it sucks. Which is a shame.
It’s worse than that…
You could take the top 12-16 wrestlers in TNA- Joe, Angle, Christian, Danielson, etc. Randomly draw matchups from a hat, have them each wrestle a 10-15 minute match at a PPV, and have a decent PPV. The talent is good enough, by itself, to have a good card, every time.
Instead, the booking and the angles of TNA are so bad that it cripples the efforts of the wrestlers. The X division guys are busting their asses and risking injuries, and the only one who really gets over is Kevin Nash. A fifty year old Sting is put over guys who could be carrying the company for the next ten years. Samoa Joe- The hottest wrestler they had- that any company had in years- was used to put over Tyson Tomko.
Someone works very hard, every day, to make TNA unwatchable. And they have succeeded.
Maybe its an experiment.
How crappy can we make our product and still stay in business.
It is the only place to see Homicide, AJ, Daniels, Sabin/Shelley, and (plus Big Poppa Pump’s promos), so I’ll keep tabs on it and check out anything noteworthy. I’m not writing them off completely, even though they are pushing Lance Hoyt which is really trying my patience.
Danielson= Christopher Daniels. I really need to triple check before posting things.
Well, for starters, Joe didn’t crush the actual X-Division champion. He pinned Chris Sabin in a 3-way match to win the belt, I suppose to keep Jay Lethal strong.
But I agree that the time to make Joe the world champion was at Bound For Glory last year in Detroit. All signs were pointing to that, with it being the first major PPV outside of Orlando, but they chose to go with Jarrett-Sting instead. Bad move. Still, I prefer TNA’s product much more over WWE’s parade of crap, and I’m interested in seeing where they go with the titles once one man has them all.
On a side note, the reunion of Triple X could be really, really good, IF they don’t screw it up. I’d like to see them make a full-on assault on every title in the company. They obviously have the talent to do so and seem realistic.
How the hell many times has TNA blew it on a chance to make some money? Monty Brown, the James Gang reunion, the Dudleys, Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, even Lance Hoyt was extraordinarily over for a few months in 2005 and they didn’t do a thing with him. As recently as Victory Road, they had ten people they could have elevated with a #1 contendership to the X Division Title, and they gave it to the one guy who should, by all rights, never wear a TNA belt again unless it says “World Champion” on it. A guy like Kurt Angle is so great in the ring as to be able to elevate anyone with whom he feuds, but they’ve not taken advantage of that, either. I swear to christ this company must have some kind of aversion to money.
Angle’s really not that good any more. His in-ring abilities have GREATLY deteriorated over the past year. Which’ll make it even more annoying when he wins all the belts.
I guess I’m the only one that likes Joe and Angle fighting over all the belts.
Oh well. Not like I visit here that often anyways.
You chose DOINK as your avatar. Your opinion is bound to stray from the norm.
I’m enjoying the fued, with Angle’s character change. People sooked that no one knew if he was face or heel, now he is outright heel. And he has that perfect mix of crazy and dangerous with cocky and funny too. People have been debating wether Angle should be serious or funny for ages.
As for the winner having to lose 3 belts, Cornette can easily come out and say he is stripping the other titles because of the obvious. Then we get tournaments for the X Division title and Tag Titles which should lead to a really good Pay Per View crowning new champions.
I’m looking forward to the progress of the tag division in the next few months. XXX has re-united, Sabin/Shelley is a team now, you have the big name teams VKM, 3D and Steiners, then the jobber team Serotonin.
It depends on which era of Doink. If it’s Brilliant Heel Doink, he’s okay. If it’s “Let’s Ruin Matt Bourne’s Career” Face Doink, then we can judge him.
That wasn’t Matt Bourne sweety-pants.
It was him when Doink was a heel. I was under the impression he was Face Doink as well.
I believe it was steve “my job now is to have an opinion on every dvd release” lombardi when he did the face turn. although it would be funnier if it was mabel or mo doink
I wonder if thejoeinme has ever been right about anything.
So is the IWGP really on the line. I didn’t think it was. If so, that means Angle is a lock on this one. If he wasn’t a lock already.
