Princess TV

I must admit, my non-children’s TV watching extended itself to around 3-5 hours a week so I don’t watch much but I did want to talk about the “Season Finale” of Entourage.

Technically Sunday’s episode ended Season 3 and Season 4 will take place the entire summer. I, for one, am excited to see the end of Season 3 as the second half of season was a disjointed mess. The writers didn’t know what to do with the storyline after Ari got fired and the whole situation with Vince and Amanda seemed like wasted film. They could’ve skipped all the Amanda mess and started the season with the extremely funny Yom Kippur episode and Vince could’ve bought the script to Medellen.

However, the season finale was solid and it’s ironic that the two best episodes of the block had Adam Goldberg as a guest start. I *HEART* the Billy Walsh character. He’s such a wild card and having a character like that can keep Entourage from growing too stale too quickly. The Eric-Walsh argument scene that the naked midget walked across was extremely funny along with Drama’s poor negotiating skills.

Season 4 will open with some interesting storylines between the filming of Medellin in Colombia along with the outcome on Drama’s TV show. I’m not exactly sure where Ari fits in anymore and I see Season 5 being the final one for this series as HBO is closing out its old original series to start new ones.

Overall it was a funny ending to a lackluster season.

The SmarK DVD Rant for Scrubs - The Complete Fifth Season

These days it’s getting tougher and tougher to find quality sitcoms on TV, as Friends was seemingly the death of the traditional four-camera setup with the trained monkey studio audience and the like. In its place, the single-camera sitcom, with no laugh track and more awkward humor, like The Office and My Name Is Earl. And somewhere in between, there’s Scrubs. (more…)
