CLASSIC!
Check it out — Macho Man v. Dragon from 1987, with classic windpipe-crushing action for the finish. Awesome, I haven’t seen this in forever except for brief clips of the throat-carnage during Wrestlemania III, and I forgot how great the match leading up to the big angle was.

Love it! I remember watching that as a little kid. If only they had the Bruno interview with Savage afterwards. If I remember Bruno went ape-shit on Savage!
My favorite part was when Randy Savage fought Ricky Steamboat.
I prefered the part where Ricky Steamboat fought Randy Savage.
The referee also played an intricate part.
Wow, great TV match, especially for that day and age.
Was this a special Superstars or something? Because there seemed to be a bunch of actual big name matches, as opposed to the usual star fights jobber all show then main event formula.
I believe this was the annual “New Season” kick off show much like, “Homecoming” and “Family Reunion” are used today.
You’re welcome Scott, from Lindsay
GREAT find Scott! Does anyone remember the 20 minute classic between Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect on Prime Time Wrestling?
This match is MUCH better than I recall back in 86…I’ve never seen a bad Savage/Steamboat match come to think of it (Besides WM3, I have late 85, Nov 86 (took place after this match was taped but before it was shown) and Feb. 87…all are quality)
I remember watching this as a little kid. I was kind of hoping they would show Bruno interviewing Macho. I remember him attacking Macho and screaming “Your proud of it? You sonnaofa–”. I beleive it led to a bunch of matches with Bruno and Tito vs Macho and I think Adonis
The Santana/Bruno V Savage/Adonis actually took place before this match. That feud grew out of Bruno being a special ref for Santana/Savage rematches and Savage being a general jerk. The cage match was a great ending to the series.
The result of the interview where Bruno goes nuts on Savage was Bruno getting a few IC title matches on the house show circuit in late 86 into 87, most notably a lumberjack match from Boston Garden in early 87.

That Bruno/Tito vs Macho/Adonis cage match was great. Bruno comes out of retirement and everyone’s expecting him to get his ass kicked, but by the end of the match he’s the only man still on his feet and able to walk out.
They do have the Interview with Bruno!
